How Do I Stand Out As a Nutritionist Via My Website Copy?

Standing out as a nutritionist in your website copy isn’t about being more qualified than your competitors,or offering more services. It’s about positioning and how your potential clients perceive you in relation to your competitors.

Most nutritionist websites that aren’t bringing clients consistently have weak, generic positioning that means you seem exactly the same as every other nutritionist when a potential client compares their options.

Generic positioning also makes it harder to be visible in the high intent searches your potential clients are doing every day in looking for nutrition support.

So how do you actually stand out as a nutritionist in your website copy?

1. Find your real USP and it’s probably not what you think it is

When I ask nutritionist clients what makes them different, the first answers are usually similar: I take a personalised approach. I’m evidence-based. I look at the whole picture, not just the symptoms. I specialise in gut health or perimenopause.

These aren’t technically USPs because most of your competitors will have the same positioning and you ultimately blend in.

Your real USP is in the details: the specific way you approach a root-cause conversation, the methodology you’ve developed through your own experience or training, the outcomes your clients consistently achieve that they haven’t been able to get anywhere else.

Most nutritionists don’t think they have a strong USP because they’re looking for it in the wrong place. It’s not in the service description. It’s in how you actually work.

2. Make your website copy do the positioning work

This is where most nutritionists lose the clients they’re best placed to help.

A potential client who lands on your website has usually already decided they want nutritional support.

They’re not there to be convinced. They’re there to decide whether you’re the right nutritionist for them.

Your website copy needs to make that decision easy via strong positioning that sets you apart from your competitors.

But most nutritionists aren’t doing this in their website copy and are relying on their niche as their only positioning tool. It’s not enough when other nutritionists have the same niche.

Sophie, a nutritionist I worked with, said it perfectly after we overhauled her website copy: ‘Working together helped me to find more clarity in the direction of my business and target market. I actually felt proud when reading the copy.’

That pride comes from seeing your real positioning reflected back rather than reading the same generic version of yourself you’ve been putting out for years.

3. Build your Google and AI visibility around your specialism

Potential clients searching for a nutritionist are increasingly specific in how they search. They’re not typing ‘nutritionist UK.’ They’re typing ‘nutritionist for PCOS,’ ‘nutritionist for IBS near me,’ ‘nutritionist for perimenopause UK.’

And increasingly, they’re asking AI tools: ‘Can you recommend a nutritionist who specialises in gut health?’

The nutritionists who show up for those searches are the ones whose website copy positions them as an expert who stands apart and is optimised for SEO + AI search.

4. Blog consistently about the specific problems your clients are searching for

One of the most effective things a nutritionist can do to build Google and AI visibility is blog consistently about the specific things their ideal clients are searching for.

That means search-intent-led blog posts that are backed by keyword research and answer the exact questions your ideal clients are asking and that position you as the expert who understands their situation better than anyone else.

Each blog post that ranks for a specific search term is an ongoing source of high-intent traffic to your website, which is also traffic that compounds over time without any ongoing effort from you.
