Are you really building a strong relationship with your email subscribers in a way that’s going to lead to action?

This is the power of a good welcome sequence - it also starts priming to sell while building the relationship early on.

There's no substitute for that - especially newsletters alone.

Most new subscribers are likely to be very new to your world and while they're keen to know about you, they're not ready to take the next step right away - especially if you’re running ads to a lead magnet. 

They need much more nurture to move from this cold state. 

This is why a welcome sequence that builds your know, like and trust factor and strategically moves potential clients further along your funnel is an essential part of your marketing ecosystem and why you absolutely don't want a potential client's next touch point after entering a funnel to be a newsletter.

Most welcome sequences don’t have this strategic foundation and they don’t move potential clients along the funnel. This is a big problem because it means that potential clients stay stuck in the same place as when they joined your email list and don’t move from there, especially if there’s no strategic direction behind your regular emails either.

If you've skipped or skimped on the trust building at the start of your relationship with new subscribers and gone straight to newsletters (especially monthly emails), it can take a long time to get your newsletters to build enough trust.

And if your newsletters aren't moving them towards action, they may never feel ready because the right groundwork was never laid.

It makes selling via your emails very difficult and leads you to mistakenly believe that email will never help you to get more clients in your wellness business.

Most welcome sequences don’t forge emotional bonds with new subscribers or start to shift their mindset towards action

Most welcome sequences are only designed to sell to ready-right-now leads- if they look to sell at all.

But most new subscribers just aren’t ready to work with you when they first join your list - less than 2% (max) will be.

The biggest reason for this is their mindset. They join your email list in a certain mindset and need to be guided away from this and into a ‘ready-right-now’ mindset before they’ll become clients.

Along the way, they need specific myths to be busted and objections to be overcome. If these aren’t addressed, they continue to stand in the way of action.

Your welcome sequence won’t do all of the necessary mindset shifting but it should start to lay crucial groundwork.

Shifting their beliefs in the first few emails paves the way for conversions later on.

Most welcome sequences don’t do this and it makes it infinitely harder to get clients later on.

How many times have you sent a one-off sales email, only to get nothing from it?

Rather than write it off as ‘email doesn’t work for me’, let’s look at why this happens.

It goes back to a lack of nurture in the early stages of the relationship.
